The ways in which we communicate continue to change and evolve as technology advances bring us robust, new tools to engage and inspire. Amidst these changes, choosing the right words and powerful images remain the constant in successful communications. The benchmarks and guidelines I learned in journalism school continue to hold true today. We create meaningful connections through compelling stories and shared experiences.

Working in Chicago has provided me exposure and opportunities to deliver strategic communications and project management to great organizations across industries that include: airlines, consumer retail, energy, financial services, government agencies, healthcare, telecommunications and non-profit organizations.

I began my Chicago adventure on the campus of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and fell in love with the city. Since then, it’s become home for my family. I thrive on the creative process. My passion is creating – creating messages, media, exceptional work teams, effective learning, results-driven projects and happy clients.

I’m committed to learning and have been honored to lead a non-profit scholarship organization called One Heart Uganda for the last decade. Our mission is to inspire and empower young people to achieve their dreams and become leaders in their Central Uganda communities.

“Kim Lord is by far the best writer, conceptor, and collaborator we have ever had the pleasure to work with. Kim gets the nuance of every request, and quickly and artfully meets every challenge, including: script writing, train-the trainer guides, facilitator and participant manuals, and project leadership. Our materials are not easy, they are based on our books, published by University of Chicago Press. Kim is brilliant – a real star!”

– Jean Mavrelis. CEO, KMA

“Kim is a brilliant partner and collaborator who brings enthusiasm and intellect to all her work. Her greatest strength may be her empathy and ability to understand the needs of the target audience.”

– Jeff Boarini, Director Operations Group/Creative Services, McDonald’s Corporation
